We are part of the Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Program (PRyMA) del CINVESTAV Campus Saltillo CINVESTAV-Saltillo which is one of the ten centers that make up the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV).
The convergence toward Nondestructive Evaluation 4.0 drives the application of artificial intelligence and smart sensing. These technologies transform modern inspection methods by enabling automated analysis of complex data, decentralized decision-making, and predictive structural integrity monitoring. In the laboratory, we have conducted research on:
Ultrasonic waves
Signal processing
Artificial pattern recognition
Acoustic beamforming
Ultrasonic tomography
Acoustic wave ray tracing
3D scanning with ultrasonic waves
Quality Control 4.0
Modern methods in Guided Waves
In our laboratory, we have modern infrastructure and high-tech ultrasonic equipment to drive scientific research and technological development.
Linear and nonlinear ultrasound: Advanced study of acoustic wave interaction with materials for microstructural characterization, early damage detection, and the evaluation of elastic nonlinearities.
Guided waves: Modeling, simulation, and experimental application for the rapid inspection of large areas in pipes, plates, and complex structures with hard-to-reach zones.
Nondestructive Testing (NDT) / Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE): Development, validation, and implementation of traditional and advanced methods oriented toward industrial structural integrity.
Automatization: Integration of automated mechatronic scanning systems for precise data acquisition and positioning control in ultrasonic testing.
Signal processing: Advanced filtering algorithms, spectral decomposition, high-resolution feature extraction, and pattern recognition focused on automated diagnosis.
